Clothing labels may refer to one of two things: brands or textile labels that are attached to garments. Branding is made for the purpose of identification of goods or services. Brands are often the manufacturers of garments. Textile labeling refers to the marker that is attached within such products.

Textile labeling is present in nearly all articles of clothes. This may include the brand as well as instructions on the how the product must be refurbished. The Federal Trade Commission required this for items that are sold in America. In some cases, markers that include tax ID numbers and material contents are required.

Such markers are classified in one of four categories. These classifications are determined by the attachment method and the material of the actual label. They include: embroidered, woven, PVC or plastic and leather. This feature plays a major role in the element of brand identification.

In general, these items include all of the needed information regarding the garment. For example, care instructions, size, place of manufacturing and the brand. These details are important to consumers.

Brands and these textile tags work together. Brands can be a name, term, design or symbol. Branding itself is important when it comes to sale of products and services of any and all kinds. Therefore, these markers tend to include some level of brand information.

Clothing labels may be used to describe a brand or the textile tag that is placed within a garment. These features go together and are essential for consumers and manufacturers. The tag itself is important because it offers information regarding the manufacturer, production place, care instructions, type of material and other garment details. Basically, it serves as a manual for the consumer, letting them know all details related to owning that particular product.
