Spring inspiration from the red carpet

If you're anything like us here at NL Collective, there was only one reason you watched the Golden Globes: the dresses. The pre-show red carpet is one big fashion show, showcasing the most famous and influential designers of the last century in both new collections and vintage. Once the stars get onstage under the lights, everything shimmers and sparkles, and we're left gasping at how beautiful and polished everyone looks. Once the magic wore off, we started wondering how we could get the same look. Of course we aren't going to red-carpet or white-tie evens every other month, but there are fun ways to take what we saw last night on our televisions and make them wearable every day. Spring is just around the corner (or so we keep telling ourselves), so here are some of NL's favorite looks from last night and how you can get them for yourself!

Morena Baccarin in Georges Chakra

Amorette

The Inspiration: Morena Baccarin in Georges Chakra

NL way: Amorette

There were a lot of cutouts at the Golden Globes this year, but Morena's was definitely a standout. The Homeland actress looks so long and lean with exposed skin in the front, but this look isn't really one for the everyday event. We love Amorette's cutout dress for the same reasons, but it's more wearable. Plus the dash of print is a bit more visible and fun!

Sarah Michelle Gellar in Monique Lhuillier

Amorette

The Inspiration: Sarah Michelle Gellar in Monique Lhuillier

NL way: Amorette

Sarah Michelle Gellar is absolutely beautiful, but this really is a lot of print. Watercolor is very fresh and eye-catching, but we say tone it down a little. We love this green and white Amorette dress, because it has the same feel as the Monique Lhullier dress, without the bulk.

Jessica Biel in Elie Saab Haute Couture

Purple Ginger

The Inspiration: Jessica Biel in Elie Saab Haute Couture

NL way: Purple Ginger

Maybe it's because she just got engaged to Justin Timberlake, but Jessica was definitely feeling very bridal last night in her lace dress. White lace is always classic and girly, she looks like she's trying to kill two birds by wearing her wedding dress to the awards show. Purple Ginger took lace and made it look youthful and summery, without the wedding feel.
